Bend City Nature Challenge 2024

Think Wild is excited to announce Bend's first-ever City Nature Challenge!

The City Nature Challenge is an annual global, collaborative citizen science effort to find and document wildlife observations in and around urban areas. We’re bringing this event to Bend to connect community members with the natural world and empower them to contribute valuable data to local biodiversity research.

The 2024 City Nature Challenge observation period takes place from April 26th to 29th, 2024, with time to identify and upload species through May 5th.

There are several ways to get involved in the City Nature Challenge:

Join a Think Wild event: Check out our planned City Nature Challenge events below. Join on your own or bring a group! No prior experience or knowledge is required.

Collect data on your own: Download the iNaturalist app and record observations during the data collection period (April 26-29).

Lead your own City Nature Challenge event: Gather your friends, family, coworkers, or classmates and collect observations! Email [email protected] for more information.

Sponsor the City Nature Challenge: Make a donation to Think Wild to support these events and our mission! Email [email protected] to learn more.
